Understanding the historical development of a building or site provides key information to determine its history and development, and an assessment of its cultural significance. Archival research is undertaken in libraries and information repositories in Ireland, the UK and abroad as required. Historical research is a routine component of conservation reports, conservation plans, architectural heritage impact assessments, and archaeological studies.   Publications include:
